Bright Bwalya

My name is Bright Bwalya; I was born in October 1983 at the University Teaching Hospital in Lusaka. I am the fourth born in the family of six, two boys and four sisters and our elder sister died in 2004.

In the year 2004, I started working at a Private clinic as a Receptionist for 2 years. My Boss promised to help with the payment of part of the fees; towards the course I wanted to study. I decided to study mechanics, which I had desired to do. I consulted around from different people to the best place to undertake my studies. And all advised me to go to Mechanics For Africa, so I applied and was accepted as a first year student

I am single currently and a single orphaned young man living with my mother, who does volunteer work at our local clinic in Mushili. As a family we congregate at St. Peters Catholic Church in Mushili. I am a secretary in our small Christian community section. My hobbies are writing letters, listening to gospel music, playing badminton, cycling and making new friends.

Jairo Chama

The 30th November 1983 unveiled the thought of my life as mom travelled about 350 kilometres to give birth to her baby boy. This was in the capital city of Zambia, Lusaka. I was born and grandfather named me Jairo.

At six months we travelled back to Ndola to join Dad and my only elder sister Theren. After me come two brothers and sisters namely Debbra, Stephan, Stave and Harry of ages 22, 19, 16 and 2 respectively. We are all staying together with both parents.

Am a religious person with all my faith in God. At church am committed to Drama Ministry. I enjoy writing plays and poems when free.

I did my primary education at Kaloko Basic School from 1988 to 1994 after which I qualified to go to Masala Secondary School, where I did my junior and part of senior secondary. After being sent away from school due to non-payment of fees, I joined my mum to manage a small business. Though it turned out to be an experience, and God was still faithful to me.

In 2001 I got a job at a service station, where I worked for two years. I then started a business from my savings after the closure of the station but I decided to invest in education due to reasons. I did Information technology certificate level last year at Mobile Mission Maintenance Vocational Training Centre. It was at this college where I heard about Mechanics for Africa (MFAZ). As I had a greater interest in engineering, I applied and thank God, for opportunity to study. I am a first year student at MFAZ fulfilling my ambition.
